Acrylic lacquers for plastics, metals and furniture: solid colors and metallic effects

Acrylic lacquer is a fast-drying paint that forms a smooth film with color and gloss. Corquímica manufactures lacquers in solid colors and metallic effects for plastics, metals and furniture parts.

In practiceThe lacquer is spray-applied, then air-dried or given a short oven dry, and leaves the part in its final color. It can be used on its own or as a base for other finishes.

Frequently asked questions

Lacquers: common questions

acrylic lacquerlacquer for plasticslacquer for metallization
What is acrylic lacquer?

It is a fast-drying paint with a smooth film, used to give color and gloss to plastics, metals and wood.

Lacquer or UV coating: which should I choose?

Lacquer adds color and dries quickly without UV light. UV coating cures in seconds under the lamp and gives more hardness and gloss. Many lines combine both.

Which solvent should I use with the lacquer?

Corquímica always recommends a solvent formulation developed in-house for each lacquer, to best deliver the result the customer expects. Tell us about your process and the team will recommend the solvent.

Is the lacquer alcohol resistant?

Corquímica lacquers are alcohol resistant. The exact level depends on the line and the cure.

Can you match the color of a sample?

Yes. The lab develops the color from the sample sent by the customer.

Is the lacquer suitable for furniture?

Yes, for furniture accessories, panels and plastic parts. For plastic coverings that need high protection, a UV coating may be recommended on top.

Is the lacquer suitable for cosmetic packaging?

Yes, in solid or metallic colors, with resistance testing against alcohol and the product's fragrance.
